Subject :Assistant Director of Financial Aid - Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) - Peosta IA

Under the general direction of the Director of Financial Aid, this position provides in-person leadership and oversight of financial aid operations to students and staff at the Peosta campus. Promotes an efficient and high-quality student-centered approach to financial aid administration across the district.

Qualifications:
Well-developed and effective problem-solving, mediation, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated supervision and leadership skills required to effectively coordinate processes while managing multiple time-sensitive priorities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required. Preference for degree in communication, business and/or higher education. Experience administering federal financial aid preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES:
Provide individualized counseling to students and families regarding financial aid policies and procedures and eligibility requirements for student aid programs.
Responsible for policies, procedures, compliance and management of VA Educational and Training Benefits as well as Active Military Tuition Assistance.
Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Research to gather data for required state and federal reporting and auditing requirements as well as to complete military-friendly surveys.
Administer Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policies, procedures and processes.
Provide oversight and management of Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) policies and procedures.
Lead the Financial Literacy Committee in strategies and goal setting and guide implementation of programs and initiatives.
Exercise independent judgment in the management of operational details of the financial aid process.
Collaborate and provide back up to the Director of Financial Aid for Title IV compliance, internal/external audits, and federal and state reporting requirements.
Actively participate in professional development activities to ensure understanding of national, state, and college regulations and policies. Ensure compliance with applicable policies, laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in working with confidential information.
In the absence of the director, assume leadership roles and provide direction to staff across the district, and has the authority to perform duties and make decisions on behalf of the director.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid and /or Vice President of Student Services.
